The Color of Love

When a person adds light to anything in his or her life, the darkness dissipates. Metaphorically, when you add love and compassion to a situation, also, hate and fear dissipate. The solution is simple, but how do we shed light into the places and souls that need it most?

The Color of Love

Lately, in the news we have seen how many people of color are treated unfairly. These beautiful people have been mistreated by law officers and a large portion of the population with stigma and prejudice. The disparity and anger have reached levels that had, at first, expressed anger and violence. Now, we are seeing myriads of people of all colors marching for democracy and fair treatment for people of color.

My Story about The Color of Love

My first moments discovering the variety of love around me and utter inability for the world  to be color-blind, happened when I was in the sixth grade. In my entire tiny town of West Mayfield, Pennsylvania, as I was growing up, there was only one family of color. This meant that the young children of that family went to my grade school. Fortunately, for my sister Lori and I, we shared a classroom with two children of this beautiful family. The friend in my sister’s grade had died with complications from AIDs around 1999. I have no idea where the young, proud black woman landed, who helped me see through prejudice as a child.

Early in the school year on September 22, I was to have a small birthday gathering with some kids from my class. I was allowed to invite any of my friends or neighbors. The young brown woman in my class, Yvonne, was my friend. Of course, I would include Yvonne on my guest list. However, some of the parents found out about Yvonne’s invitation, before the birthday (including my dad) and stopped their children from attending. My dad explained to me how this particular invitation could change the color of my birthday. However, I was satisfied if Yvonne and I ended up being the only ones at my party. I wasn’t going to let hate force me to un-invite anyone from my party because of color.

When I was in the 8th grade, riots around the Martin Luther King era began to arise in the Beaver Falls area of my town. I remember clearly, my brother Mark was a part of those riots. He had been fighting for the white folk, though. He came home with a bruised and bloody body. This infused anger and fear even more in my small town. Who were these black folks that felt as if they DESERVE the rights of us—White Folk—who have been living here for hundreds of years?

I heard the cries and saw the fears from both sides of the aisle. I didn’t judge. Even as young as I was, I prayed for wisdom to understand, because no adult in my life at that time understood prejudice. When asked why they hated black people, they were unable to share any kind of truth that satisfied my unwavering palette for authentic truth and love.

I have spent my entire life fighting for something that was so innate, I can’t even explain how I ended up being so colorblind from such a young age.

When Healing Flows like Living Water through your being, you’ll notice you feel led and connected, sleep better, your mind stays affixed on positive things, and you’ll even want to cook better, healthier food to protect your body. Are you looking for help with anxiety or are you bored at home.

Try this yoga practice below on YouTube I made just for this purpose or give me a call for a 10 minute consultation. I’d love to work through your stress at this time with you.

The process is so simple, it doesn’t make sense that it could result in such a vast change in mind. You could do some seated yoga. I actually made 3 different yoga videos on YouTube you could go to now and enjoy how great you’ll feel if you spend just a little time getting your body free of stress. But, I can’t do it for you. This article about it can make you do it. You  must be a self-started at home, as well as work. Set your mind to a clear schedule of things to do. This would be a brilliant time to learn a new language or clean out the closets.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT PEACE OF MIND

We give away our peace of mind every time we react emotionally to inevitable change. Peace is yours to keep, not give away. So, if you are not experiencing peace, it’s up to you to share why you are anxious with yourself by carrying on a self dialogue. Yes, that’s right. Question yourself. Work it out together with all the parts of your mind (the good, bad, and the ugly). These are the times when we will be closest to our loved ones and also have a great deal of alone time. Use it to your spiritual and physical advantage.

Some friendly reminders about Peace:

  • You are made in the image and by the grace of Peace.
  • Peace doesn’t comprehend pandemonium.
  • Peace of mind is gentle.
  • Peace does not judge you or others.
  • Peace promotes calm and love.

The Physiology of Hypnotherapy:

By going into a subconscious, light sleep or trance, a hypnotists helps find the pathways connecting your outside stimulus to your negative thoughts (food, smoking, anxiety). The work begins in the frontal cortex of your brain

Disconnect the root cause (stress, relationship problems, no quality ME time) at the foot of the pathway (the place where our response to triggers happens) and build a healthy, new pathway to positive outcomes in your life—a new story for tomorrow.
