Powerful and Proud

Powerful and Proud

Who doesn’t desire power of some sort in their lives? Power gives us wealth, security, and pride. However, can we actually gain true power with force, with muscle, with the right platform, with money, or with fame?

Powerful and Proud

The two very different definitions of the word proud are:
1. Feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one’s own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated; or
2. Having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one’s importance.
The first definition is what real pride is. The second is what pride can become. There’s a big difference.

My Story about Pride vs. Power

Remember the story of Lucifer, God’s most treasured angel using his pride to exult himself above God in the highest? This is the ultimate example of when pride can fool someone into believing he or she is more than, better than, and more deserving of _____ (fill in the blank). When we get to the place in our minds that we are not “unified” with all creation in some divine way, we immediately head to a pathway to sin and destruction.

I specifically use the word “sin” here, but in the original Greek text, the word sin meant missing the mark, as in an archer missing his target. Our target each day has to be more like: “What can I do to help others today,” rather than, “How can I make more money, be more perfect, attract more followers?”

I’m not opposed to ayone striving to be the best one can be. But, when anyone becomes something amazing, you are just a more perfect representation of Spirit God. The act of practice causes us to tear down the walls of fear. When we do so, we begin to shine brighter and more like Intelligent Infinity.

I spent most of my young adult life wanting to be a star—any kind of star—a singer, actor, recording artist, author. I can’t tell you how many times I endeavored to the precipice of famous and then fell short of the universal push to get there. Each time this would happen, I would complain to God: “What am I doing wrong? Why do all of my projects fall short of becoming… ?”

What I didn’t realize was that I was simply not ready for fame. Not only was not ready, I didn’t have the divine understanding that becoming famous often removes your power over your own life and replaces it with more pride than anyone person can handle. We see this over and over again with stars and the rich and famous. Ultimately, I didn’t want to become that person who is so consumed with himself that I would be worthless to the world. Spirit and the angels protected me from that reality. Now, I’m happy I landed exactly where I am now.

I have had my moments in the spotlight. They feel like this: Amazing for a fleeting moment. But, they become like an addiction. When will I get my next standing ovation? When will I get cast in the next national commercial?

I still have moments when I let a bit of this anxiety come in, but I realize that anxious attachment had shaped my childhood. I spent my life wanting to be loved an accepted. Becoming proud of myself is actually being open and receptive the Spirit of Good, Love, and Compassion working through me and as me each day. This is the best I can be.

As for the opportunity to shine, I get this valuable tool from Spirit every time I ask: “Please God, fill me with the Holy Spirit, which you promised would comfort me, guide me, and lead me to all of the wisdom, power to heal, and fame I’d ever need in life. Since I have release the desire to shine my own light and talent, I have had the most opportunities I have ever had in my life to do the work that I love and get paid for it. Suddenly, power and pride go hand in hand.  I am proud of myself everyday that I can minister through my own pain and not accept the reality of the world as my own. I see only God. That’s my solemn prayer.

Much love, Bo

When Healing Flows like Living Water through your being, you’ll notice you feel led and connected, sleep better, your mind stays affixed on positive things, and you’ll even want to cook better, healthier food to protect your body. Are you looking for help with anxiety or are you bored at home.

Try this yoga practice below on YouTube I made just for this purpose or give me a call for a 10 minute consultation. I’d love to work through your stress at this time with you.

The process is so simple, it doesn’t make sense that it could result in such a vast change in mind. You could do some seated yoga. I actually made 3 different yoga videos on YouTube you could go to now and enjoy how great you’ll feel if you spend just a little time getting your body free of stress. But, I can’t do it for you. This article about it can make you do it. You  must be a self-started at home, as well as work. Set your mind to a clear schedule of things to do. This would be a brilliant time to learn a new language or clean out the closets.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT PEACE OF MIND

We give away our peace of mind every time we react emotionally to inevitable change. Peace is yours to keep, not give away. So, if you are not experiencing peace, it’s up to you to share why you are anxious with yourself by carrying on a self dialogue. Yes, that’s right. Question yourself. Work it out together with all the parts of your mind (the good, bad, and the ugly). These are the times when we will be closest to our loved ones and also have a great deal of alone time. Use it to your spiritual and physical advantage.

Some friendly reminders about Peace:

  • You are made in the image and by the grace of Peace.
  • Peace doesn’t comprehend pandemonium.
  • Peace of mind is gentle.
  • Peace does not judge you or others.
  • Peace promotes calm and love.

The Physiology of Hypnotherapy:

By going into a subconscious, light sleep or trance, a hypnotists helps find the pathways connecting your outside stimulus to your negative thoughts (food, smoking, anxiety). The work begins in the frontal cortex of your brain

Disconnect the root cause (stress, relationship problems, no quality ME time) at the foot of the pathway (the place where our response to triggers happens) and build a healthy, new pathway to positive outcomes in your life—a new story for tomorrow.
