Intimacy/Touching in a Pandemic

What Will Intimacy/Touching Look Like in a Pandemic? Will Fear Crush Your Sense of Security?

What will Intimacy/touching in a pandemic look like when we cannot express love and friendship with touch? I’ve literally had to stop myself mid-reach in a hug for someone that ultimately I wouldn’t think twice about hugging, because of this “safe distance” we are supposed to introduce into our lives, because of the pandemic.

This terror excited by long grocery lines, empty toilet paper shelves, and a constant chain of heightened news, will ultimately take away your peace if you are willing to let go of peace to grab on tightly to the noise of fear. However, the real scare is how will it affect our levels of intimacy?

Fact: True intimacy of the heart doesn’t comprehend pandemonium. Peace of mind is gentle like your pet who doesn’t care if you cough or not. (Thank God, our pets are not vulnerable to the Corona virus.) Our four-leggeds greet us without distress or distrust for where we’ve been or with who we last shared our breath.

I just met with two friends in my office. We didn’t hug, as we usually would. However, I never once felt any less love from either of them. In fact, the idea that we want to protect each other by being as cautious as possible actually heightened my level of intimacy with these close friends.

Look up! Feel the direction of Spirit and follow it without question! Know that angels are always protecting you. If you are listening to the pandemonium too intently, buying into all of it and neglecting your trust in God, you may miss out on the vital message of the Spirit calling you away or protecting you in the face of danger. More importantly, you may become void of the level of intimacy you need in life to feel loved.

Levels on Intimacy in times of a Pandemic

I have a dear friend who just came out of a heart operation. Even her own husband can’t touch her for fear he will infect her. He must first take off all of his clothes, shower, sanetize. Then and only then can he feel free to touch and care for his wife. This level of care is true intimacy and love, if we look at it with eyes that understand and trust the Now.

If I want precious peace of mind, I have to spend time deliberately thinking about the good in my life, the intimacy of the heart, and stay focused on the present moment. As King David in the Old Testament did, he rehearsed his blessings and his triumphs. This is important to give yourself confidence in the outcome.

Most of our stressful habits, even negative mind messages begin with a compulsive thought. We must gain control over these subconscious triggers. By stopping the negative thoughts that no longer serve your life, you will increase your joy by 200% immediately and ultimately resolve any tension, habit, smoking, weight gain, anxiety, stress, you name it.

How Peace helps You Keep Your Retrospect in Check and Get Your Focus off of the World and onto True Intimacy in this Pandemic

Hypnotherapy will release habits, help you find peace in your daily chores,  such as weight gain, cigarette smoking, and relieve anxiety? One person at a time, hypnosis is changing lives much faster than cognitive therapy. I’ve heard therapists say that hypnotherapy is like talk therapy on Speed.

A great hypnotherapist can help you observe, but not judge, the thoughts in your mind. From this external point of view, you can make radical change in your present thought thinking.

Psychology Today says that “it’s not bad to have negative thoughts …

We just have to stop believing them!” (Change your unhealthy thought process to a positive connection.)

The Physiology of Hypnotherapy:

By going into a subconscious, light sleep or trance, a hypnotists helps find the pathways connecting your outside stimulus to your negative thoughts (food, smoking, anxiety). The work begins in the frontal cortex of your brain

Disconnect the root cause (stress, relationship problems, no quality ME time) at the foot of the pathway (the place where our response to triggers happens) and build a healthy, new pathway to positive outcomes in your life—a new story for tomorrow.
