How does a person who has been sitting in his or her apartment or home watching mostly  bad news television for four weeks gain A Spiritual Perspective on Covid? Also, is a healthy Spiritual perspective necessary to have a healthy mind and body—staving off any illnesses and the virus, itself?

A Spiritual Perspective on Covid-19

Stumbling along with a negative perspective can make the chemistry of your body actually attract disease. According to the Psychology Today, a heathy spiritual perspective promotes a healthy body. The article’s premise is based on the placebo effect. When patients are given sugar pills, and a positive atmosphere, they often heal faster than those on medication. However, spirituality isn’t about fooling you. Spirituality is about tapping into the unlimited power of God.

If the human mind is part of the God mind (the kingdom of God is within), then what does this say about the human possibility? Hypnotists experience a similar scenario when dealing with the subconscious. If a person is deep in a trance, the entire temperature of the body can change with the simple suggestion of imagining being out in the snow without a coat. 

What does this say about the “physician within,” as Jesus called the healing aspect of our incredible minds?

If a healing nature within each of us didn’t exist, why would Jesus reference it so many times in the body and heal over and over again the lame and blind? He wanted to show us that we are created to do the exact same thing as he was. He was the way shower.

Lately, my husband and I have been avidly devouring spiritual books, including the Christian bible. I’m finding words I have heard a thousand times (as I had been a minister for many years) have new meaning in our new normal, in this pandemic. I’d adjure you to do the same. Find time to open your heart for the spiritual understanding we need to get through any crisis, including the one we are presently experiencing. It doesn’t matter how you came to this belief or if you use the same words as I. Spirituality is yours. You get to decide what you want to believe. Choose though. Plug into it.

Plugging Into God

In retrospect I have found that not only Jesus, but his apostles and disciples spent the majority of their time and ministry in the art of healing bodies and minds from what they considered a negative (demonic in those days) connection or over taking of the mind or body. The secret to healing was to call on the Holy Spirit, which Jesus had sent into the Earth after His resurrection to guide and lead his followers. This holy spirit is simple to attain. It’s like plugging something into a wall socket. The power of Spirit is all around you, ever present; but, you must plug into its power to allow it to flow through you. As simple as this acting of plugging yourself into the power of Spirit, you can just imagine being a part of this divine healing power. Voilá, you’re tapped into the Power.

The second secret is understanding that you can and must visualize the healing before it happens. You must know that you have power over disease, negative thinking, mental illness. To do this, you must get to know that healing power that’s within you. For me, it’s meditation and prayer that connects me to the infinite Love of the universes. 

When Healing Flows like Living Water through your being, you’ll notice you feel led and connected, sleep better, your mind stays affixed on positive things, and you’ll even want to cook better, healthier food to protect your body.

We give away our peace of mind every time we react emotionally to inevitable change. Peace is yours to keep, not give away. So, if you are not experiencing peace, it’s up to you to share why you are anxious with yourself by carrying on a self dialogue. Yes, that’s right. Question yourself. Work it out together with all the parts of your mind (the good, bad, and the ugly). These are the times when we will be closest to our loved ones and also have a great deal of alone time. Use it to your spiritual and physical advantage.
